touchingtheclouds-bonnie%20leon

Join us as The Salt Shaker welcomes back local & nationally known author, Bonnie Leon, as she signs her latest book, Touching the Clouds. In this first book of the new Alaskan Skies Series, Kate Evans is an adventurous and independent young woman with a pioneering spirit. When she leaves her home in Washington State to follow her dream of being an Alaskan bush pilot, she knows it will be an uphill battle. But she never expected it to be quite like this. As the lone woman in a man’s world, she finds that contending with people’s expectations is almost as treacherous as navigating the wild arctic storms.

When she crosses paths with a mysterious man living alone in the forbidding wilderness, she faces a new challenge. Can Kate break through the walls he has put up around his heart? And will fear keep her from realizing her dreams?

Touching the Clouds will draw you in with raw emotion and suspense, all against the stunning backdrop of the Alaskan wilds.

The Salt Shaker hosts aspiring, local author, Michael Miller on his book tour of, The Voiceless Many. In Miller’s first released book, The Voiceless Many, brings to light what's been overlooked, ignored and shrugged off for so long.

Brian Wellington is a high school student who knows well the destruction teasing and humiliation can bring - he's been a victim of it his entire life. And when a fellow student who shares in the same struggle takes his rage out on his school, Brian stands idly by. This traumatic event opens his eyes to the many others who suffer the same treatment, and from then on vows to always stand up for and give strength to those afflicted by the wounds of verbal, mental and physical abuse in school. His determination attracts the attention of a burned out history teacher. Together, they form a unique bond that leads Brian to his calling—to be a high school teacher.

This book tells of heartache, anger, redemption, resolve and hope.

This is Brian's story.

Lynnette Bonner

Brooke Marie Baker, eighteen, has been sent west as a mail-order bride. As the stage nears Greer's Ferry, where she is to meet the man she's pledged to marry, she tries to swallow the lump of nervousness in her throat. Can it be any worse than living with Uncle Jackson . . . or Hank? she wonders. All men are the same, aren't they? But with her parents and sister dead, she has no choice.

Lynnette Bonner, the daughter of missionaries, was born and raised in Malawi, Africa, graduated high school from Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school in Kenya, and attended Northwest University in Washington, where she met her husband, Marty. They have four children and currently live in Washington, where Marty pastors a church. http://www.lynnettebonner.com

Sharon Bernash Smith, Linda Reinhardt, and Rosanne Croft

Grace Rose McFarlane, the middle McLeod sister, is dying. Her very last act is to leave a cryptic handwritten warning for her great-granddaughter, who will be arriving soon for Christmas break: Julia, the lion will destroy you. But what does the note mean? Through a stack of yellowing letters and journals in her grandmother's attic, Julia pieces together a shocking tale of rebellion and betrayal and is determined to track down the truth.

Sharon Bernash Smith has worn many hats, including preschool teacher, midwife's assistant in home birth deliveries, and a Pregnancy Resource Center volunteer and newsletter editor. She has been published through Focus on the Family and AMG. She serves in women's ministry at her church in Washington. http://sites.google.com/site/sharonbernashsmith/

Linda Reinhardt leads small group Bible studies: HEART (Healing and Encouragement for Abortion Related Trauma), Time to Heal, and Life Groups. She has contributed to church news-letters, a puppet ministry curriculum, and wrote/directed a Christmas play. An avid believer in the power of prayer, she is passionate about ministering to post-abortive women. lindajreinhardt.blogspot.com
